| The Achensee (or Lake Achen) in Tirol, Austria is one of those secret idyllic Alpine settings, less than 90 minutes from Munich. There are so many mountain peaks to choose from in this region, all offering superb views of the lake and its surroundings from all angles. This time I choose Mt. Rappen (2223m) to the south western corner of the Achensee, in the Karwendel National Park. As usual the weather was on my side - to make it another rewarding day out in the mountains.
