| The Tegernsee is one of Bavaria's many fine alpine lakes - located in the foothills of the Alps less than an hour from Munich . The lake is one of the German's favourite retirement spots with the nearby Spas and Health Farms to help survive the cold winter. In summer this is a fine setting for going for a refreshing dip and hiking in the surrounding mountains. I hiked up to the Tegernsee Hut above the lake, a hut which surprisingly has no view of the lake. The hut is built in a mad place on a cliff edge between two rock formations, the Rossstein (1698m) and the Buchstein (1701m). Click on the photos to see the fine scenery... |
