Swiss Alps: The hike from Ebenalp to Mt. Saentis

Saentis is one of the most prominent of the Northern Swiss Alps, as it rises from the small foothills starting at Lake Constance, stretching beyond St. Gallen into the Appenzellerland, to form the first real mountain range which can be seen from Lake Constance on a clear day.
There are numerous hikes to conquer the summit, making it a mountain with many sides, and always something new to be explored. Guido and Myself undertook this tour in late August 2001.
Overcoming the difference in altitude of more than 1000m over a walking distance of 20km is certainly thirsty work, but well work the hike!
